The unreadable label

An ingredient list is thirty names
you were never meant to read.

So apps started stamping them with scary "toxic" scores that aren't really about you. CosmetiqWise does neither. It tells you what each ingredient is, and flags only what matters to your skin, your allergies, your pregnancy.

Three steps, zero effort

It works the moment
you land on a product page.

STEP 01

Shop anywhere

Browse your favorite beauty and skincare stores like you always do. CosmetiqWise quietly finds the ingredient list on the page, with no copy-pasting or searching.

STEP 02

Read it in plain English

Every ingredient gets a one-line explanation of what it is and the job it does in the product. No chemistry degree, no Googling INCI names.

STEP 03

See what matters to you

Tell CosmetiqWise what you care about, from your own allergens and pregnancy to fragrance, sulfates, silicones, or microplastics. It pins those to the top whenever they appear, and stays quiet on everything else.

The regulatory facts, stated plainly

Where an ingredient is limited or banned in the EU, Canada, or the US, CosmetiqWise shows it as a neutral fact with a plain one-line reason why. Information, never a scare.

Good questions

The fine print,
in plain English.

No, and that's on purpose. There's no universal "safe" or "toxic" ingredient. CosmetiqWise explains what each ingredient is and what it does, and flags only what's relevant to your own profile. We never label a product clean, toxic, or dangerous, and we don't give a single overall score.

As much or as little as you like. Pick from a library of concerns grouped into your skin and health (fragrance allergens, pregnancy, pore-clogging ingredients, and more), the environment and ethics, and formulation preferences like sulfates, silicones, or microplastics. You can also add your own allergens by name. CosmetiqWise shows a flag only when something you chose actually appears, and stays quiet otherwise. Comedogenic ("pore-clogging") ratings are directional and contested, not a guarantee, and the pregnancy note always says to check with your provider.

When an ingredient is limited or banned by a regulator in the EU, Canada, or the US, CosmetiqWise shows that as a neutral fact, with a plain one-line reason why whenever we can ground one. It's there to inform, not to alarm: we never turn a regulatory limit into a "toxic" label or an overall score.

Not right now. CosmetiqWise is a desktop Chrome extension, so it works in Chrome on a computer (Mac, Windows, or Linux). It does not run on phones or tablets, including Chrome on iPhone and Android, and it is not yet available for Safari, Firefox, or Edge. We may add more browsers and platforms later.

It works on thousands of beauty and skincare retailers that list ingredients on their product pages. If a page shows the ingredient list, CosmetiqWise can read and explain it. We're always expanding coverage. If there's a retailer we don't cover yet, you can request coverage here.

No. CosmetiqWise reads the ingredients on the page you're already viewing and looks them up entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, there's no account, and it works offline. Your shopping is your business.
