Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED: 9 JUNE 2026
CosmetiqWise is built to run entirely on your device. It does not have a server, does not collect your data, and does not track you. This policy explains exactly what that means.
What the extension does
When you open a product page, CosmetiqWise reads the ingredient list already present on that page, matches each ingredient against a dictionary that ships inside the extension, and shows plain-language explanations in the side panel. All of this runs on your device.
Information we collect
None. CosmetiqWise has no servers and makes no network requests of its own. It cannot, and does not, send your browsing, the pages you view, the ingredients you look up, or anything else off your device.
Information stored on your device
- Your profile (the concerns you switch on, and any allergen terms you enter) is saved using Chrome’s local storage so the extension can flag what matters to you. It stays on your device and is never transmitted. You can clear it any time by turning the concerns off, removing your entries, or uninstalling the extension.
Page content
To find and explain an ingredient list, the extension reads the text of the product page you are viewing, in your browser, at the moment you view it. This text is processed locally to produce the explanations and is never stored or sent anywhere. The broad site access the extension requests exists solely so it can do this on whatever store you shop.
What CosmetiqWise does not do
- No analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind.
- No accounts, logins, or identifiers.
- No selling or sharing of data (there is no data to sell).
- No advertising.
- No safety or toxicity score, and no verdict about any product. The extension explains ingredients and flags only what matches your own profile.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above will change with it.
